ATAC Chapter 74: Visiting

Liu Yu’an’s role meant that he and the entire movie crew are currently working at a rural school in the next province over. Shao Yanxi will have to take a plane and then change to a train and then be driven to finally reach the small town.

On the way to the airport, when Shao Yanxi is relaxing in the car, he suddenly thinks of something and tells assistant He, “get some journalists on stand-by at the airport.”

The press? The assistant is mystified, but obliges, and calls up a few media companies Heng’an works with.

At the airport, when the arranged journalists are extending their mics towards his boss and asks, “Mr. Shao, are you going to visit An-shao at work?” and not being chased away by the bodyguards, he finally gets it.

Ah, the sweet rotten scent of love. Poor eligible bachelors like him would never understand couples’ obsessiveness with displaying affection.

It takes half an hour by private jet to reach the provincial capital next door from Lai, during which Shao Yanxi has spent his time working on his usual window seat while the assistant quietly mulled over his romance prospects elsewhere.

Shao Yanxi finally finishes off all the work he needed to do for the day just a few minutes before landing and starts packing up. Now that the work is done he can spend quality time with Liu Yu’an.

Although he takes trips by plane regularly, he still can’t get used to the uncomfortable feelings one gets when the pressure inevitably changes. He seems to have it worse than many people too, with shortness of breath and a feeling like something is gripping at his heart. He has to close his eyes and endure it, and continue sitting at rest for a while after the plane lands to adjust himself.

It sure is a good thing he can afford private jet trips. And the pilot, the assistant, etc. who travel regularly with him are also used to it now. The assistant, for example, is surfing online on his phone while waiting for his boss to recover. As expected, the media companies have fanned the flames rather well and now it’s all the loving news of Shao Yanxi visiting his husband.

——Yanyan is going to visit him from thousand miles away!
——Another day, another affectionate gesture from Xixi to An-ge
——ah, i love this CP so much, theyre so sweet

Even he, the insignificant, unloved assistant would get comments on these days too, ones like [assistant xiao-gege, go stop xixi! he’s a bossy CEO, he’s a boss! he cant just fall to the thousand mile visit trope too!!!] or [assistant xiao-gege, take care of xixi so he isn’t too tired ok]

The assistant can’t help but diss them inside. Your loving bossy-CEO would not only go a thousand miles, but wouldn’t even want to return; and tired? Yeah, he’ll have to collapse by exhaustion before he lets them take him to rest. And, like, it’s Liu Yu’an who gets to decide how tired he would be in the first place.

If Liu Yu’an wants him tired, then he and all the other employee will get to work extra hard the next day; if Liu Yu’an wants him well and alive, then he will be at work on time as usual the next day, lively as ever.

Of course, he doesn’t reply to any of the comments. He still wants his job, thank you very much.

Shortly thereafter, when Shao Yanxi finally stands back up, everyone gets ready to disembark and leave by their VIP passageway.

There’s already people waiting for them at the airport parking lot, who quickly come when they see them here and humbly receive them, before escorting them to the train.

It’s been a while since Shao Yanxi had to take a train to go anywhere. It even feels a bit refreshing. Since they have been able to buy out all the tickets for this cart, it’s quiet and calm. Shao Yanxi gets an entire row to himself, and starts looking online as well. While he would furrow his brows at all the comics they draw of him running towards Liu Yu’an with ‘hubby!’ in the speech bubble, he still can’t help but smile.

Thank the Heavens he is sitting by himself, so nobody can see his face.

Then he looks around online, and even comes across a fanfiction with childbirth of him and Liu Yu’an, with him as the Top, even.

Seeing Liu Yu’an with a big tummy calling him ‘hubby~’ and asking for him to rub and massage his knees, his cheeks are shaking holding back any laughter.

After this eye-opening experience, he starts searching actively for these fanfictions. Of course, only ones featuring him as the Top.

Among the many innuendo-ridden completely neutered pieces of writing, he accidentally comes across one from a certain other website, and boy is it truly an eye-shattering experience.

Despite all the arousing and breathtaking plays, it sure is a shame that this one is depicting him as the Bottom.

Le sigh.

The slow country train finally teeters its way to the local town by sundown. When Shao Yanxi is finally at the train station, there’s Liu Yu’an and his assistant who are here to pick them up.

Liu Yu’an also sees them immediately too. A bunch of business elite in suits contrasts quite well with the rural backwater background. He quickly approaches them, and kisses Shao Yanxi’s on the forehead in front of everyone, and in spite of all the cameras pointed their way, and holds his hand, asking, “was it tiring? How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine.”

Right after reading and imagining such a steaming scene and then being kissed in public, his face goes red like the clouds outside.

Normally Shao Yanxi could hold himself pretty well together and, while he might be shy inside when he kisses him in public, his face would still be cold and distant and look as poker-faced as ever. The red cheeks that are practically about to erupt in a puff of smoke is entirely unexpected. He even felt like asking if he’s alright when Shao Yanxi scratches his palm and says, “there’s too many people here. Let’s go.”

Then he starts pulling him out. There’s some fans of theirs on the way, but this is a remote-enough station and so Liu Yu’an could take off his mask and talk with them a little before urging them home as well. After that he and Shao Yanxi quickly leave.

They have been apart for days now, and miss each other very much. As soon as they get in the car and the panel between the driver and them is raised, Liu Yu’an starts kissing Shao Yanxi, lasting until Shao Yanxi is going numb and pushes him.

Liu Yu’an, with a reddened Shao Yanxi who is welling up in his embrace, has to take some deep breaths to calm himself down. He asks, “missed me?”

Shao Yanxi gives him a ‘ya think?’ look.

Then he buries his head into Liu Yu’an’s neck, and is about to nibble on him again when Liu Yu’an stops him and says, “oh my dear lord, don’t, or I would have to take the rest of the day off. Tonight, after I give the clothes back, I’ll let you bite as much as you want.”

Bastard. Shao Yanxi rolls his eyes.

Then they chat a little bit about stuff, like Jiang He and the Hao family, during which Shao Yanxi sounds slightly unhappy, “why did you have to go to them? I could have dealt with Jiang He myself.”

Liu Yu’an is about to explain when Shao Yanxi asks, “what did you promise in return?”

Given what he knows of them, obviously they wouldn’t just help out of something as fickle as ‘familial relations,’ especially when he and them don’t even have that much of that in the first place. Though Liu Yu’an tells him that the elder of the Hao family really did seem to feel guilty or sorry for him, but whatever it was, he still called Hao Jun there. Then he explains to Shao Yanxi, “then it’s practically their game. Though I did mention the earthquake a little, you know, because it would have been busted after the elder died… Anyway, they would still definitely take the chance to knock their political rivals down a peg. So I didn’t really offer anything substantial. Maybe they’ll be able to remain prominent if they’re smart about what I did tell them.”

“I see,” Shao Yanxi is relieved to hear that Liu Yu’an didn’t have to pay any hefty price for getting their help. At least, he would never forgive himself or him if Liu Yu’an had to be harmed somehow in order for them to help.

He couldn’t care less whether the Hao family ends up falling to obscurity this time around or not. He would much rather focus on kissing some more with Liu Yu’an.

So, when they leave the car, both their lips are swollen. The assistant, Xiao-Zhang, Xu Qingqing and the bodyguards are all going =_=, pretending they don’t see anything.

Liu Yu’an finishes his remaining scenes as quickly as possible, then the two of them goes straight to the hotel room and spends a very ‘productive (mainly describing Liu Yu’an)’ night together.

Meanwhile, the Internet is having a riot; there’s the entertainment news from the media, of course, but also photos from passers-by, recording each and every moment they spent together, and how Liu Yu’an kissed Shao Yanxi and made him blush and walk all weird leaving the station too.

[Hahaha the CEO is so cute]
[it must make an-shao want to make him cry some more hehehe]
[uwu i also wanna be the guy an-shao cares for]
[You can start by becoming the one top-listed at Forbes, perhaps. Lol]

There’s even some comments under a particular photo going, [An-shao and CEO Shao just left the car with swollen lips. Describe what happened in the car (5 pts) (smile)]

Of course, there’s the usual comments as well that express their distaste at such a flagrant display or are calling it a set-up and in reality they’re even divorced or whatever.

Anyway, no matter what, this does largely settle down the speculation that their marriage has gone south. The CP fans are having a field day of their own, among them even the staffers in the movie crew, who were sitting at the corner when Shao Yanxi was sitting near the front watching Liu Yu’an act.

“Oh my god, look at how loving they are.”
“The CEO’s gaze is so gentle.”
“An-shao too! Did you see how he looked in his direction when the last scene was done? I could even feel my legs giving out.”

And they happily continue their CP following activities for the few days Shao Yanxi spends visiting Liu Yu’an.

Shao Yanxi wanted to stay longer really, but a phone call from the Hao family meant he had to go, because the elder has to declare his will now or never. Shao Yanxi rejected them at first, but they brought up his mother, and said “it should be her here right now, but you know she can’t even at this point. As her only son, if only for her sake, you would want to let her father pass peacefully, wouldn’t you.”

So he had to go. And Liu Yu’an is really busy now with him having taken a leave before so he can’t make any time, nor did Shao Yanxi want him to see them in any case.
