Du You nods, “Xiao Tiantian is leaving. I will be following him.”

Assistant Xiao appears spooked.

What? Her boss is leaving to chase after a ‘Xiao Tiantian’?

“…”

Speaking of which, who was Xiao Tiantian again?

Though our assistant Xiao has seen the person himself, she has yet to associate that person with a name. So she gloriously misunderstands thinking her boss has found someone new. Again.

As for Shen Chen himself, he appears to be frozen in place. Since he broke up with Bai Yue, he wanted to make up with Xiao Tiantian as soon as he could, but he’s been busy recently and hasn’t had the time.

What in the world, that man dare to keep him in the dark while he slipped away?

A new piece of jazz that is even more soothing than the last is played on stage, but it failed to calm Shen Chen’s emotions rumbling inside his chest.

The gathering is still ongoing, and he’s even scheduled to make a speech in ten minutes; Shen Chen finds himself unable to stay here for a moment longer, and turns to the door heading outside.

A few steps later, he comes back, “which airport?”

He quickly departs after getting an answer.

Du You watches as he disappears outside the door, and asks his assistant, “do you know what he wants to do?”

Assistant Xiao pushes her glasses calmly, “it would appear he is going to go after the plane.”

What?

Du You is genuinely shocked, and chases after him.

Why is he still going after Xiao Tiantian? He thought he made it clear enough the last time around.

Across the corner, he runs into Shen Chen arguing with his secretary.

“Mr. Shen. The gathering is beginning shortly. Can I ask where you are going right now?” Secretary Dong is blocking the man.

“Move.”

“This gathering is held by the Shen Conglomerate, and your father the chairman also stressed the importance of his event beforehand. Many industry representatives have made their way here, if you are absent, it will-, people will be sniggling behind our backs.”

“Are you ordering me?” Shen Chen furrows his brows.

“No, I don’t mean it that way.” The secretary looks like he’s on the verge of tears.

The chairman is still making his way here, along with his spouse. Worse, this little secretary here definitely didn’t have the power to stop CEO Shen from leaving.

When he looks around, he happens to see Du You, so he says expectantly, “Mr. Du…”

If his business partner is present, at least his boss should calm down a little, right?

Shen Chen hears him saying that and realises Du You must have come after him, so he looks back at him.

Du You asks, “are you going after Xiao Tiantian?”

Shen Chen has a complicated expression trying to work out an answer. It’s definitely a favour the person told him this information, but he is immediately going to throw him away after that?

Unlike Bai Yue, Du You himself is a man who is of equal standing to him. Outside of the business with Xiao Tiantian, he certainly has respect for the man.

Not to mention such an excellent man has an unrequited love for him.

Though Shen Chen is not one keen on being ambiguous. Since he’s asking, he answers, “that’s right. Sorry.”

Hearing that, Du You is confounded.

So he did not actually believe in his parallel universe theory, huh.

Xiao Tiantian’s flight is about to depart, so time is of the essence now. Shen Chen turns around, resolute, and continues to leave.

“Wait, Mr. Shen!” Secretary Dong still wants to stop him, but then he gets held up by the collar.

Shen Chen’s expression looks rather ominous, “nothing, not even if the trumpets of the apocalypse sound, is more important than that person. If you still want to keep your job, then keep quiet.”

Wait, what? Has he by any chance transmigrated into a teenage romance drama as an antagonist?

Secretary Dong seems dumbfounded as he just stands there watching his boss walk into the elevator in complete silence.

In the international airport, perhaps having sensed something, Xiao Tiantian looks outside the window glass.

The dense drizzle is forming a curtain, rolling down incessantly. Dark clouds have blanketed the skies. Due to this, his flight is delayed.

He is dragging his suitcase behind him. His feeble body is carrying a big backpack. He is standing in the large passageway, alone.

Exhaling, the puff of warm air forms a white fog on the glass.

It’s a bit cold today, but he’s only in short-sleeves.

Why did he take a look at the scenery outside? Could it be that, he still has lingering feelings for this place that has torn apart his heart so?

Xiao Tiantian shakes his head and continues to walk forward.

That person is waiting for him. The moment he takes off on the plane, a brand new, dazzling life would await him!

Outside the international airport is Shen Chen, who did not even bring an umbrella, and just ran inside the airport like so.

Du You is in a car behind him. He is following after him. He has entered the airport now as well.

The system is unsure what its host is planning this time, and is feeling worried.

Fighting over Shen Chen for the Bottom… is probably not the case here.

Please, anything, just please as long as it isn’t dragging Shen Chen away in front of the Bottom again.

Du You enters the lobby but doesn’t see Shen Chen anywhere. Then, he seems to have discovered something and walks firmly in that direction.

The system looks in the direction he’s heading, but it rubs its eyes because it doesn’t seem to discover anything significant.

And then, it sees its host walking into a shop selling bubble tea, “one classic bubble tea with tapioca, thanks.”

System – Did you run all the way to the airport just to get some bubble tea?!

Of course not.

Du You did not plan to actually follow along originally. Though, he wanted to confirm whether Shen Chen can actually stop Xiao Tiantian. If they made up, then he himself wouldn’t have to go abroad too. A happy ending for everyone.

While waiting, it seems Shen Chen has failed to discover Xiao Tiantian, as he is running this way from that direction.

The bubble tea is done. Du You takes a sip.

Looking up, Xiao Tiantian is currently leaning on the fencing along the upper floor corridor, sighing.

Isn’t he right there?

Xiao Tiantian himself isn’t sure why he’s come back all the way to the entrance. Was he hoping that someone would come after him?

He shakes his head in self-mockery. When he is about to turn and walk back again, he seems to hear someone calling for him, with a voice that sounds awfully familiar.”

“Xiao…”

“… Tiantian!”

He pauses.

The person shouts again. The voice comes closer. He is certain someone is calling his name, and turns his head around slowly.

What he sees is certainly that man. He’s dressed in a suit, but his shoulders are drenched by the rain. His usually well-maintained hair is messy. His breathing is heavier than normal, as if he ran all the way here.

Xiao Tiantian widens his eyes in surprise. It is the first time he has ever seen Shen Chen looking this wretched.

Why? Is it for him?

He is slightly touched, but he suppresses that emotion immediately.

He’s hurt him so much; he would never forgive him that easily.

Shen Chen has collected his breath by now, “… I won’t let you go.”

Xiao Tiantian’s expression looks cold, “why, who do you think you are?”

“I won’t allow you to leave,” Shen Chen walks forward hurriedly, and catches him in his embrace, “don’t go, come back to my side.”

Xiao Tiantian wants to push Shen Chen away, but the man’s grip is firm like always (TL: The raws say ‘but because of the rain, he doesn’t have as much strength in his body’… Which sounded like nonsense to me, so I changed it).

“I have already broken up with Bai Yue. I will never go after him again,” Shen Chen is begging, “I was wrong. Can you give me another chance, please?”

It’s the first time Xiao Tiantian has seen Shen Chen put himself in a lower position than him, so he is somewhat touched. But those insults and degradations before, how he treated him coldly as a substitute, all of them make him steel himself and say, “too late. I never liked compromise, but you would never know how much I conceded for you with my genuine feelings.”

“I know that…”

Xiao Tiantian’s eyelashes seem to be trembling, “no, you don’t know. Someone’s heart might be as tough as diamonds, but once you manage to smash it into pieces, into dust, it could never be glued back up again.”

“…” That metaphor didn’t seem to click with Shen Chen very well, but he does understand that he’s basically rejecting him, so he says, “unless you come back to me, I won’t let go.”

Not far away, Du You is sipping his bubble tea and chewing on tapiocas.

Are they shooting a K-drama right now?

In any case, under Shen Chen’s coercion and persuasion and begs, Xiao Tiantian has finally acquiesced. He lets go of his suitcase and instead his arms wrap lightly around the man’s shoulders. He closes his eyes, where a drop of tear has just rolled down.

Seeing Shen Chen succeed and his bubble tea finished, Du You leaves.

Perhaps this is what true love is.

And he also doesn’t have to go abroad. What a pleasant outcome.
