“Achoo!”

Du You sneezes quite loudly.

The system seems concerned, “what’s wrong, host? Are you unwell?”

Du You shakes his head. There is no way he will ever get sick.

“Then good,” the system continues, “the next plot point is almost here. You will have to take care so that you don’t infect our Bottom.”

Du You rubs his nose slightly, “what plot is it?”

“Xiao Tiantian’s father will have a car accident. In the meantime, Shen Chen will realise his true feelings and break up with his white moonlight,” the system seems to be looking up something, “so the next location is the municipal hospital. Disaster befalling his parents means our Bottom will be at his weakest mentally. Host, please make good use of the opportunity this time.”

“Mm.”

This time, he must make Shen Chen understand the stakes at hand, and give up on Xiao Tiantian.

There is still some time before the next plot point.

So Du You continues his work as the bossy CEO as usual, even going overseas on a short business trip in the meantime.

After returning, he leaves the airport late at night.

This time only assistant Xiao accompanied him on his trip. The driver picks them up in a sedan.

In the car, Du You is browsing the latest Trending topics when he realises tonight is Mid-Autumn Festival. He takes a look outside the window.

The sky is dark, with only a scant few stars dotting it here and there.

The moon tonight wasn’t even as round as the one he saw back when he went to the bar.

What’s currently Trending is a livestream of the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala on the Watermelon video site. They have apparently invited the popular boys band Today here to perform.

When Du You clicks into the livestream, the barrage of floating comments have completely blocked everyone on the stage.

[AAAAAAAAAAAA Haoyu didi mommy loves you!!!]
[Haoyu honey I want you to impregnate me!]
[Haoyu oppa you’re way too seductive ohimdead]

Rather than a Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, it’s more like You Haoyu’s personal live show.

Though the names of the other members are occasionally mixed in the comment barrage, but they’re immediately drowned out by other comments about You Haoyu.

He can’t see anything…

So Du You closes the comment barrage.

On screen is the last beat and an ending pose by the five people.

The song now over, Today leaves the stage in the people’s cries and the screams.

The number of people watching live is also at its peak at this point, so the host takes the opportunity to quickly blurt out a list of the brand daddies sponsoring the show.

After Today leaves, the number of people watching dramatically falls. Even the few popular idol singers to follow could not bring the numbers back to its peak.

Du You watches for a bit longer and gets bored. They’re on the highway now too, so he puts his phone away.

The black sedan weaves through the night highway like a ghost. A casual track is playing inside the car.

The situation sure makes people sleepy. Du You’s head nods, and nods. He is about to fall asleep.

Assistant Xiao turns around to take a look, and shuts off the music. She also gestures for the driver to keep quiet.

Peace and quiet.

Though a short while later, Du You is suddenly jolted awake by a piercing scream, and looks around him quickly.

What, what?

Assistant Xiao covers her mouth, and turns to look at her boss. She says apologetically, “I’m sorry, Mr. Du, did I wake you up?”

The driver says, “sir, there seems to have been a traffic accident up ahead.”

Looking ahead, there’s two cars, one big, one small; one black, one white, in rather intimate contact with each other.

A man standing in front of the cars looks particularly familiar.

Assistant Xiao also recognises him.

Isn’t he the person endorsing their brand, You Haoyu?

The white nanny van has crashed into a nearby tree trunk while the black Volkswagen is crashed into the body of the nanny van, whose frame is crunched inwards and the lights shattered.

You Haoyu, standing by the car, with a few girls surrounding him, looks completely outraged. Even wearing the mask isn’t any help masking his angry expression.

“Signature? Are you all retarded? Do you not know how dangerous it is to merge into our lane like that?!”

The frustrated shout is clearly heard even in their car metres away from the scene.

Assistant Xiao takes a look and turns to her boss, explaining, “Mr. Du, it seems to be sasaeng fans following a celebrity’s car.”

Those fans at the scene all seem to be shocked. In their minds, You Haoyu might be wild and straightforward but he would not swear, but he did just now, and it was even at them.

The girl asking for a signature just now seems dissatisfied, “what, what do you mean! We chased after your car because we like you. Without us fans, what do you think you are?!”

“Sasaeng fans, right?” You Haoyu mocks them, “do you think you are anything more than that?”

“You!” The girl looks agitated and swings her fist at him.

You Haoyu steps to the side and dodges. He puts his right arm behind him. His assistant steps between them seeing the situation deteriorate.

“Everyone, calm down, calm down! Argh! Don’t fight!”

The assistant almost feels like crying. Why are these ladies that usually keep up appearances so ferocious when fighting.

The scene is descending into chaos.

You Haoyu thinks his life has surely been in the dumps recently.

Before he got deceived and went to a bar on the invite of a ‘friend’ from his talent show days, who only wanted to show off with this idol he knew. Those bunch of strangers in the private room were looking at him like some rare species and stuffed their phones in his face taking photos.

Now he’s returning from a show and got into a traffic accident from sasaeng fans chasing his car.

Everything’s pissing him off.

The assistant almost can’t hold it back anymore.

The agent is not here, and besides the celebrity himself, there’s only he and the driver on the van. Those five, six girls surrounding them, they can’t fight back either. He can only protect by opening his arms and legs wide like a hen protecting her chicks.

He already called the agent as soon as the accident occurred, who said they’d immediately send someone here, but it will take time.

That is when he hears footsteps coming his way.

They came this quickly?

He turns around with hope in his eyes, but then his hope sinks when he sees it is a woman he doesn’t know at all.

Spectators? This is already messed up enough. If news got out the agent would scold him, bad.

Assistant Xiao approaches him and hands him her business card. The young assistant is slightly surprised, but his expression brightens up as soon as he sees the name of the company on the card.

It’s the company Haoyu is endorsing! They might be able to help them out in this chaos.

Then his mood sinks yet again.

Wait, the sponsors happening to see this might make them view Haoyu disfavourably, or even cancel the whole endorsement and demand reparations from them.

The young assistant feels very conflicted right now, given that it’s his first time dealing with something like this. So he just holds onto the card in a daze, looking frozen.

Assistant Xiao decides to ask him herself, “do you need help.”

They’re here to help! The assistant is moved, and sings hallelujah in his heart.

“Please, can you take Haoyu back to his company first? It would be bad to continue this standoff here,” then he turns around to tell the young man looking like he’s running out of patience, “this is the assistant to the CEO of the Du Conglomerate. Remember to be respectful.”

You Haoyu looks at the woman in her thirties. She’s wearing glasses and dressed quite conservatively for her age.

The sasaeng fans are being blocked off by the driver, and still making a ruckus there.

He didn’t particular want to follow her, but he would much less prefer staying behind in this damned place.

Assistant Xiao nods to him, “please follow me.”

When the fans see their idol leaving, they yell, “You Haoyu, stop where you are. Where are you going?!”

After that clash just now, they don’t even call him oppa anymore.

“You Haoyu, who is that woman? You took the money we gave you to find love?”

You Haoyu bursts, and yells back, “fuck off! I am in love with this damned auntie, so what?!”

Afterwards, he pays no more attention to the pale people behind him, and leaves.

The glasses of our assistant ‘Damned Auntie’ Xiao flashes white for a second. She pushes her frame once.

You Haoyu discovers another man besides him sitting on the backseat on the car when getting in. He looks familiar.

Assistant Xiao boards the passenger seat, wears her seatbelt, and introduces him, “this is the CEO and Director of our company, Mr. Du.”

TL’s notes: In all seriousness though, don’t be a sasaeng fan. It’s despicable. Being fans or giving money to someone doesn’t entitle one to intrude on their privacy.
